Who would have thought that Malaysian starlet Diana Danielle Beeson would get married at 21? Not even her showbiz mum, Norsiah Ramli, who played an instrumental role in building her promising career.

"My mum is feeling the blues," admits the "Hantu Gangster" star. "I'm her only child. But she's always been supportive of me. She's happy 'coz this is what I really want to do."

But a close family friend of the actress begs to differ, telling Red Carpet that "Danielle's (Diana) mum is sad that she's throwing away her bright future by getting married too soon."

Part of Diana's big future plans include a career crossover in US to collaborate with pop star Akon as well as renowned American songwriter/producer, Teddy Riley – whose impressive resume includes Michael Jackson, Blackstreet and Mary J. Blige.

"She's lost the contract," says an industry source. "She can't commit herself because her fiance doesn't want her to go to the US."

Diana and her actor boyfriend of three years, Farid Kamil got engaged on the quiet in September this year. Initially, the cute couple were supposed to be engaged for a year before saying "I do."

Why a `speedy' wedding, you ask? "Her mum doesn't want to lose her," adds the family insider, who spoke to Red Carpet on condition of anonymity out of respect for Norsiah. "Danielle (Diana) is truly in love with love. She had run away with Farid when her mum told her to cool off with the relationship before."

When pressed for comments, the Pan-Asian beauty denied being controlled by her man, saying "Singing is not my priority. But I won't give up acting. It's true that Farid has set some rules for me, that there will be certain things that I can't do. That's because we live in a conservative country."

On getting married young, the star explains: "It's something that I like to do early in my life. It's always part of the plan. If I had my way, I would have done it four years ago (when she was 17)."

Diana and Farid, 31, are set to solemnise their marriage on Nov 3 at the Flamingo Hotel in Ampang, Selangor. Their private akad nikah ceremony will be attended by 300 close family members and friends.
