Have you heard of a singer named Najwa Mahiaddin before? She is the daughter of our Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. She enjoyed the luxury of being the daughter of Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin Yassin, but she developed a taste for simpler things, a fact that would later surface in her small concerts. She has managed to make music that hearkens back to a better musical period – the 50′s while also promoting strength and independence through her lyrics and presence. Najwa's beautiful voice gives me goosebumps. She's a real cutie pie – love those curves! She's one of those Malaysian artists who grabs you from the very first time you hear them. I've been listening to her songs on repeat since a friend of mine shared her new single hit, "Got To Go" one week ago. The song won me over by the end of verse one! Right now, "Jealousy" is my favorite track, but I know that will change the more I listen to the other songs. Her voice is truly something special and I think her style of vocals makes the lyrics come to life. She could sing the ABC song and I would find myself daydreaming about alphabets for a week. LOL, I just adore her! Here is Najwa and her brother performing in her home. I love seeing her sing. She's just so lovely to me! I'm glad she's getting some well deserved recognition. She does a great cover of "Don't Look Back" by Telepopmusik which is a song I love and didn't think I'd ever like a cover but this wee girl is something powerful. Her acoustic cover version is better because you can almost hear the desperation in her vocals! It's so moving, unique and intense. Give me chills! I think its refreshing to have a young singer who can actually sing.
