Yusof meluahkan rasa kecewa dengan sikap Neelofa kepada seorang wartawan akhbar dengan mengatakan artis muda itu dilihat semakin hari semakin lupa diri setelah namanya semakin meningkat naik. Lantas, Neelofa atau nama sebenarnya Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor memberi kenyataan balas berkenaan isu tersebut menerusi artikel mStar hari ini. Ujarnya, dia tidak berkecil hati dengan teguran yang diberikan oleh Yusof itu. "Selama ini pun saya banyak minta tunjuk ajar daripadanya dan apa saja teguran atau nasihat yang diberi, saya terima kerana dah anggap beliau macam bapa sendiri," ujar Neelofa menerusi mStar. Malah, dia juga merasakan hubungan dia dan Yusof begitu akrab seperti sebuah keluarga. "Ramai yang tidak tahu bahawa keluarga saya dan uncle (panggilan buat Yusof) saling kenal mengenali dan kami mempunyai hubungan yang agak rapat," kata Neelofa. Namun, dalam temubual mStar itu, Neelofa menyatakan isu tersebut seperti sengaja diperbesarkan oleh pihak ketiga. Isu itu berbangkit lantaran dari teguran Yusof kepada Neelofa yang dikatakan enggan memberi kerjasama dalam rangka promosi filem 'Saya Amat Mencintaimu (S.A.M). Malah, Neelofa juga tidak hadir sewaktu pelancaran filem itu yang diterbitkan oleh Skop Production. Menurut Neelofa, dia tidak hadir sewaktu pelancaran filem tersebut kerana pada ketika itu dia berada di tanah suci Mekah bagi menjalani penggambaran drama Kau Yang Terindah. Selain itu, Yusof juga tidak berniat untuk memburukkan Neelofa kepada wartawan serta umum. Ujar beliau, dia hanya berbual biasa dengan wartawan berkenaan.
