Anzalna apologises for defaming <b>Neelofa</b> | Today News Posted: 03 Jul 2012 06:48 AM PDT PETALING JAYA: The month-long controversial spat between local starlets Anzalna Nasir and Neelofa has finally ended with the former issuing a public apology for defaming Neelofa in a newspaper article in June. The apology by Anzalna, 24, whose real name is Nur Anzalna Md Nasir, follows her admission that she did not have any evidence to support her allegations against Neelofa to the newspaper concerned. "I, Nur Anzalna Md Nasir, on the advice of Persatuan Seniman Malaysia hereby apologises to Neelofa for a statement made in Berita Mingguan on June 10, 2012, on page 10 which brought disrepute to Neelofa and her family," she said in the presence of Neelofa at a press conference organised by Seniman at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. "I admit to not having solid evidence when I made the statement to the newspaper concerned. I honestly did not have any intention of embarrassing anyone by the statement."
Also present were the actresses' two lawyers, Seniman president Zed Zaidi and complaints and legal bureau chief Zahrin Ishak. However, despite the apology, things between the two actresses remained icy and awkward, with neither making eye contact or exchanging greetings. Details of the terms of apology in Neelofa's letter were not distributed to the media. It had previously been reported that Anzalna accused Neelofa of belittling her family by setting up a page in Facebook entitled "We Hate Anzalna" and describing her as being ill-natured. Neelofa, 23, whose real name is Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor, considered the issue closed. "I am thankful this (fight) is over now. I chose to resolve the case in a legal manner because I know that the truth is on my side and it has been proven today," she said. A person such as the beautiful Neelofa has been accused of slandering about the other lady in a teen beauty contest. The victim was another beautiful babe Anzalna. Anzalna who is a promising actress accused Neelofa of putting up a facebook page to ask fans to hate Anzalna in order to win the contest. However, the news that has been brought up by Anzalna was long to late to be surface as the contest was held 2 years ago. Did Anzalna deliberately making up this story to put her name on the spotlight, and taking advantage of Neelofa's name who is currently very popular? Neelofa with her lawyers during the press conference Some people may think like that, but Neelofa felt that this is too much and she had asked Anzalna to make a public apology as this news had tarnished her name. Eventually Anzalna did not retaliate and instead leaving this issue to the SENIMAN, the association for actor and actresses in Malaysia. Until today, there was no news about Anzalna wants to prove her claim on Neelofa..Hope that this situation would not be worsen and both party should shake hands and settle it down appropriately. |
