Controversial rocker Faizal Tahir in the dark over silent ban ABN ... Posted: 19 Jun 2013 02:01 AM PDT By Noorsila Abd Majid KUALA LUMPUR – Is he or is he not? Malaysian pop-rock star Faizal Tahir is wondering if Media Prima Berhad has really slapped a ban on him over his political tweet way back in the General Election 13. According to his manager Jeff Wai, Media Prima has yet to officially informed him on the 'ban', but confirmed that the biggest Malaysian free-to-air TV and radio network has cancelled all shows involving Faizal. "I dare not say anything. There is no black and white yet," says Jeff. "But his scheduled appearances on Media Prima shows have been cancelled. No reason given." Ahmad Izham Omar, the CEO of Media Prima Berhad has denied the ban, telling Red Carpet that it's just a speculation. Faizal has declined to comment on the controversy, but dropping strong hints of trouble brewing by tweeting: "I'm thinking that my next album should be titled FAIZAL TAHIR The Banned. Suits me well." He is signed to Monkey Bone, a music label under The 8 Unit banner owned by Media Prima. On April 16, the Sampai Syurga hitmaker tweeted about BN candidate for Shah Alam, Datuk Zulkifli Nordin, saying: "My family n i are residents of Shah Alam. We truly feel insulted with d naming of d candidate "offered" to the people of S. Alam. Seriously." |
