Kitchen Musical SINGAPORE — Hot on the heels of the nominations at the 2012 New York Festivals under the International Television & Film Awards competition for "Best Writing" and "Best Performance", The Kitchen Musical has been recognized at yet another international television festival. This time, the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo nominated the series in three divisions in the Drama TV Series Category – Outstanding International Producer (Nelia Molato-Sutrisno, CheeK, Christopher James), Outstanding Actor (Stephen Rahman-Hughes and Arthur Acuña) and Outstanding Actress (Karylle Tatlonghari and Rosemary Vandenbroucke).

The 52nd Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo to be held at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco – a cultural center in the heart of Monaco – from 10 to 14 June 2012, was created in 1961 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco. The Honorary President of the Festival has been H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco since 1988.

His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III's wished to "encourage a new art form, in the service of peace and understanding between men." Monaco's international status ideally suited the Prince's ambition: to recognize television as an exceptional means of bringing cultures together and enhancing their respective knowledge. Over the years, many distinguished celebrities sat on the successive juries, bringing international recognition to the best of television programming.

With the Festival's unique competition that pits television programmes from all over the world against each other, the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo has become an absolute must for the entire television industry. The best programmes are awarded with the prestigious Nymphe d'Or award or the Golden Nymph, originally designed by Monaco sculptor, François-Joseph Bosio.

The Festival is known for honoring the best of the best with last year's nominees for the Drama TV Series Category coming from popular television series like Dexter, Lost and Mad Men from the United States of America, Downtown Abbey and The Adventures of Merlin from the United Kingdom and The Slave Hunters from South Korea. Mad Men took home the Outstanding International Producer and Outstanding Actor awards.

"This is AWESOME! The Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo is a prestigious one with a long history of recognizing both artistic, cutting edge and commercially successful TV content. Just to be nominated in the category of Best Drama TV Series with the likes of Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, some of the best drama TV series in the world, is an honor. This recognition will spur us on to make more creative content to increase the Happiness Quotient of both our viewers and investors," shared CheeK, creator of The Kitchen Musical, and the Head of Creative for The Group Entertainment.

An original production by The Group Entertainment, The Kitchen Musical is a genre-busting TV series featuring drama, music and food served in 13 one-hour episodes. It is a story about a rich, young girl fresh out of culinary school who embarks on a journey of self-discovery when she starts working for The Avilon, her father's restaurant. It aired in 17 countries across Asia in October 2011 via AXN, nTV7 in Malaysia, Metro TV in Indonesia and ABS CBN's Studio 23 in the Philippines. Local versions of the series are currently in the works for Italy, India and Vietnam.

The series features a pool of international talents including British thespian Stephen Rahman-Hughes, Filipino powerhouses Karylle Tatlonghari and Christian Bautista, Hong Kong actress-supermodel Rosemary Vandenbroucke and New York based Filipino stage actor, Arthur Acuña.

After the success of the show's season one launch, it goes for a second run in May 2012 across multiple platforms including more broadcasts on "Free-to-Air" stations across Asia.
