UPL Interviews R&B Singer/Songwriter Jarrard Anthony | Urban Pop <b>...</b>

Once upon a time in 2004 when I was programming music selections for a digital cable service (I'm not dropping names except in the audio of this interview), Jarrard Anthony's independent debut album Don't Sleep…Just Dream came across my desk. I popped in the CD and could immediately feel this man's passion for soul music. I added "The Dream" (listen below) into rotation cause I loved its haunting melody which reminded me of something D'Angelo or R. Kelly would have recorded in their heyday.

Now, almost 10 years later, Jarrard still has his eye on the prize with his brand new release Ready to Live. It's his 3rd indie album and his most soulful and genuine offering to date. What else is new? He's a happily married man with a bunch of kids, which is why he's now ready to live more than ever before.

I got a chance to interview Jarrard Anthony recently to discuss everything new in his world and what fans (as well as potential fans) can expect from this new venture…

"It's an album that's really designed to focus on the beautiful things that life has to offer. It's an album that's about joy…about family…about being a parent, it's about being in love, being a spouse…it's about life's lessons. It's an album about making people feel good."
