Kim <b>Yuna</b> Receives One-of-a-Kind Louis Vuitton Trunk « KoreAm <b>...</b> Posted: 17 Oct 2012 04:52 PM PDT Photo via Chosun Ilbo Olympic gold medalist Kim Yuna became the envy of Korean ladies everywhere when famed French luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton gifted her with a one-of-a-kind, handmade trunk to carry her skates and accessories while traveling. Back in January, Louis Vuitton approached Kim with the offer and worked out the specifications. The company later employed a craftsman in Asnieres, France, who labored over the trunk for nine months in order to perfect the item, the Chosun Ilbo reported. Louis Vuitton said it will make one more identical case early next year. Kim plans to put this up for auction together with an autographed pair of her skates and donate the entire proceeds to UNICEF. She has been engaged in helping young people in need as a goodwill ambassador for the charity organization since 2010. Audrey magazine editor-in-chief Anna Park estimated that such an item could fetch up to $100,000 at auction. "If a handmade Hermes bag — which they make hundreds of — can go for $10,000, a one- or two-of-a-kind trunk like this can easily reach six figures," Park said.
