| STOMP - Singapore Seen - Sour-grapes KL actor attacks <b>Aaron Aziz</b> <b>...</b> Posted: 10 Apr 2012 03:10 AM PDT A Malaysian actor, unhappy that Singapore actor Aaron Aziz won Berita Harian's Most Popular Artiste in Malaysia award, created a stir online when he 'slammed' Singaporeans in his blog and on Twitter. The Malaysian actor, known as Zed Zaidi, had Tweeted this after Aaron Aziz won the award: 'I'll be more proud if a Malaysian had won!!! Thank you fellow Malaysians for encouraging foreign artistes to tarnish our art!' The actor wrote about how, if fellow Malaysians are not careful, they might be influenced by artistes from other countries. He slams fellow Malaysians for idolising foreign artistes, saying that he feels sorry for Malaysian artistes who are made to feel like step children in their own country. He urged Malaysian artistes to rise, and said that they are quietly being conquered by foreign artistes. He also questions whether foreign artistes should be allowed to work in Malaysia since they are only holding visitor passes. He went on to accuse foreign artistes of saving up the money they earn in Malaysia and bringing it back to their own country, destroying Malaysia's economy. STOMPer Choco Ame, who came across the Malaysian actor's blog, wrote: "A Malaysian actor by the name of Rozaidi Jamil, or more commonly known as 'Zed Zaidi', created a recent online uproar after indirectly slamming Singaporeans in a blog and his Twitter account after his recent controversy regarding his discontentment with Singaporean actor Aaron Aziz's victory as Berita Harian's Most Popular Artiste in Malaysia. "Not only was he slamming Singaporeans, Zed also criticized Malaysians who gave the victory to Aaron. "In my opinion, no matter how jealous or opinionated you are against another, shouldn't someone as well-known as him be more sensitive to the issues relating to citizenships and such?" Zed Zaidi is on the left of the main picture, while Aaron Aziz is on the right. |
