East <b>Akim</b> MCE Declared Winner In Assembly Election

The incumbent Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for East Akim Hon. Peter Asirifi has retained his seat after the election in the assembly last Friday.

About fifty six assembly members were present at the election; the MCE polled fifty three votes which made him to retain the seat according to the electoral standing orders.

Early before the voting, the Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Helen Adjoa Ntoso appealed to members to vote for the MCE to retain his position and continue with the development in the Municipality.

She cautioned the assembly members that if the assembly concept is made partisan, it will hamper development, reiterating that government is commitment to developing their feeder roads in the municipality.

On his part, the East Akim Municipal Electoral Officer Mr Fred Opare read the standing orders of the election, and indicated the purpose of gathering as to endorse the president nominee Peter Asirifie as the MCE for East Akim, urge the assembly members to be vigilance whiles voting.

After voting the Eastern Regional Electoral Officer Mr Boateng declared Hon. Peter Asirifi as the MCE of East Akim.
