I have watched with delight the garden growing in the traffic circle on Recreation Rd in Fish Hoek. The spinach is growing better than the carefully tended lot in my garden – mine is holey and not worth picking! So I was very pleased to receive this note and these picture for Green Guerrilla Akim Riemer who is the man responsible for creating the patch. Akim writes:

"Guerrilla garden in the middle of Fish Hoek by the General  - once a concrete circle, now a small growing urban food garden.

The garden gets no love – it was last watered a month ago -once again proving the guerrilla growing system without water-or really small amounts of it. Profiling the soil is the trick to farming with little water.

The future to growing food is to be able to do it with as little water as possible. Bio-dynamic  farming is the most attractive option.

Thanks to the friend who was passing by and stopped to lend a hand."
