akim & afiq - mesti ada cinta

Goddamnit.

I seriously have this song stuck in my head now, thanks to Astro. I've been listening to this song & watching the video repeatedly all night long and it's driving me crazy.

The first time I heard this song I think probably last month or so, it gave me serious chill. The song is somehow 'haunting'. Maybe the lyrics or maybe the music. Then the video itself just blends together. The whole thing just gives me the chill and I absolutely love that. It's a sign that it's a damn good music. I don't listen to malay music, and I happened to accidentally listen to this on Astro while I was waiting for my show to start.

At first I thought the music video is about Akim and his love interest for Fieqa and that Fiq is Fieqa's boyfriend and boy was I wrong. The 3 of them are actually siblings. Fieqa being the youngest sister, then Akim followed by Fiq. Akim is the bad boy type, having bad friends and just a total opposite from his brother who sells burger. Then when his sister got raped, he got pissed and confronted his friend who did it but the whole gang beat him up and then he's paralyzed. That's when he realized that family's love is more than anything and that he mixed with the wrong people.

I have a serious thing for cute bad boys, who wears black and then gets beaten up. It drives me crazy and [bleep]. Hence why I'm currently obsessed with this video. Damn you Akim for being a bad boy, wearing black and then get beaten up.

The song itself has an entirely different meaning. It's actually a song about prophet Muhammad SAW and his love for us, the Muslims. Akim explained the meaning of the song in his blog so you can check it out if you want: Akim's Blog

The collaboration between Akim and Fiq worked so well. I just friggin love their voices together. My only problem is the video's continuity. You see at the beginning the 'CCTV'-ish camera of Akim being beaten up by the gang but you see him running down the stairs and straight away beating his friend but in other end part, you see him confronting his friend first. So continuity error there. But other than that, it's such an awesome video and song.

When the hell did Akim get so cute?! And I find Fiq strangely cute as well. Wtf.

AKIM FEAT FIQ – MESTI ADA CINTA

Bila saja kau terasa
Hati tertekan berkata
Mengapakah jiwa makin terseksa

Cuba kau lihat dunia
Dari mata yang melihat
Semua adalah dengan izin yang esa

Dan bila esok tiba
Yakinlah cinta ada, mesti yakin ada

Suria tertunduk malu
Dengan cahayamu ohh kasih
Awan terkejar melindung
Mengemis senyummu
Rembulan mengukir bayang kasih sayangmu
Indahnya bila cinta ada, yakinlah

Katakanlah oooo
Sang pencinta
Katakanlah
Sepenuh jiwa

Suria tertunduk malu
Dengan cahayamu ohh kasih
Awan terkejar melindung
Mengemis senyummu

Suria tertunduk malu
Dengan cahayamu ohhh kasih
Awan terkejar melindung
Mengemis senyummu
Rembulan mengukir bayang kasih sayangmu
Indahnya bila cinta ada, yakinlah

Jasper Johns, "Three Flags" (1958)I have taken several famous political passages from American History and run them repeatedly through Google Translator.  I present them here in verse form.  An explanation follows, but first, please enjoy these poems.

Join the Team (The Declaration of Independence: Opening)
He joined the team
and they have a separate equal station
to understand and to be separated from God
Human, land, honor, human activities such as authority,
is required to follow the natural laws,
and growing in another way

Self-Evident Truth: Hynaur (Declaration of Independence)
We had a life, liberty and happiness
of the invasion of the rights of the creator,
it is clear that he believes
that like all men are created equal .... hynaur

Our Sacred HonorStatue of Liberty (The Declaration of Independence: Conclusion )
This announcement:
The organization and protection of Providence
To give our lives
To help our country and our sacred honor.

A More Perfect Union (Preamble to the Constitution)
American people
in their ability to protect the U.S. Constitution
welfare for children in public,
system security state and to keep the peace,
could be more perfect union.

The Right Combination (Second Amendment to the Constitution)
Freedom of speech,
or of Congress
or newspaper religion
or people
do not get the right combination
Of passive or prohibiting
the free exercise,
and asks the government for redress of the complaint.

Moving On (Second Amendment to the Constitution)
Better control of the military security,
to keep and bear arms,
free country,
people are right,
it is necessary it is no longer the case.

The Color it Was Before (15th Amendment to the Constitution)
Can be a U.S. citizen,
Mel Gibson in "The Patriot" (2000)regardless of the vote,
or to limit the U.S. government race,
or color, it was before.

Rejected (19th Amendment to the Constitution)
U.S. citizens can vote in any state in the United States
on grounds of sex
or rejected,
or summary.

How These Poems were Constructed

I cut and pasted various pieces of the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution into Google Translator.  After entering a piece of text, I then set about translating it relentlessly through multiple languages.  I typically translated a document 10-20 different times, never repeating any language during a single document's translation process.  I always began with the original English text, and always concluded in English to get the text you see here.  Other than the final translation of each piece back into English, I never used English as a translating language during the process.

Most documents went through the translation process only once, though "Join the Team" and "The Color it was Before" were run twice; in each case the documents came out excessively jumbled the first time, and a second effort produced a more coherent translation

The poems you see here are the exact text produced on final translation back into English.  The only modifications were some minor tweaking of punctuation, case, and the breaking lines of text to approximate blank verse.
